Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 || Great budget wide angle

Hey guys!

I want to start out and say thank you to everyone that has come back for all my horribly written posts since I have started this blog. Also, thank you to anyone that has gone from here to my youtube channel.

Now, let’s get into the point of this post. The Rokinon 14mm f2.8 at which comes at a decent price. Used you can find these for under $200 which is not bad IMO. I am pumped to try this out at shooting the stars and milky way very soon. This lens is a manual focus lens which is something new for me since I don’t own any mf lenses but for stars you don’t need autofocus so still a great lens choice.

Now, when it comes to the distortion, it is there which is no surprise with it being so wide. When shooting faces or building you will see the distortion but can be fixed in post if you want to. The few photos that I have taken with this lens I have really enjoyed the wide angle, I don’t feel like the distortion is really that bad and I find them pretty dang sharp as well.

In my video below I show some of the images that I have taken with the lens, cropped in and not cropped, it varies on the image but you can get a good idea of how wide this 14mm is. All photos are shot on a full frame sensor, which is on my Canon 5d mk IV.

Thanks again for coming back to my blog! Check out my video and youtube channel.

Until next time,
