2021 and what’s in store.

Something that started in 2020 that was good is shooting wedding videos and that flown over into 2021. Wedding videos is something I didn’t plan on too much and it’s just taken off for me so that is one thing that is in store for my 2021.

Youtube is something else that is slowing growing. It’s growing in the views department more than it is in subscribers. In the past 4 months my views have quadrupled and many of those views are not even on my newest videos but videos I posted years ago but that is okay! I have some videos in store for some newer gear I have gotten recently so that should be fun. I plan on being more creative on my time off with product style photography stuff in my home office. Many things in my head that I need to make happen but we will see what the year holds.

Besides those two big things, there is promoting more and getting more freelance video and photo jobs in my area. Growing my instagram as well would be good and not likes but followers to get my photos and videos visible to more people.

The last thing is to travel more. Even if they’re just day trips to capture the views or whatever it may be. Arkansas is always on the calendar to go for a hike but looking at maybe some new places like the oklahoma dunes or western kansas. Just want to capture new places and also shoot more astrophotography this spring/summer!

Social Media

Hey everyone, something different today.

No photos or videos unless you choose. I want to share my social medias for people that dont follow along on Instagram or Youtube.

Photography is where it all started for me, I was on IG when it first launched but I have now moved profiles and have 3 at the moment, all for seperate style of work.

My instagram that I post mostly to is http://www.instagram.com/derekliving and this is where you will find nature, portraits, architecture. It covers a good variety of things that I love to take photos of. My other two pages are http://www.instagram.com/DLsports and http://www.instagram.com/derekandfilm

It’s pretty straight forward here. DLsports is where I post my sports photography and occasional video and DerekAndFilm is where I post my film photography. If you’re into any of that I would appreciate the follow and let me know what you think of my work on any of those.

Lastly is my youtube. Youtube was just a place for me to kind of create videos so I can look back at memories and I slowly started doing videos over the gear I have or the places I have been to. I also share some sports photography and film photography stuff and that has been a fun new addition as of recently. So check that out if you want at https://youtube.com/c/DerekLivingston9

Thanks for checking out my blog. I go over photography and videography topics in my life so check out my recent posts.

Until next time!

2019 in Review

Hello again!

2020 is here but let’s not forget about 2019 all so quick. I grew in many ways in 2019 and I would say I grew the most as a creator in my videography work. I went from shooting commercials, podcasts, youtube content and facebook videos for clients and then I switched jobs and now I simply create videos for the company I am at and often videos that are used in classrooms(it’s all educational). With the job change, I was able to get out more on the weekends, create videos, take photos as I had plenty of time now.

In my recent video, I look back at 2019 in photos and talk about some of my favorite images I had created. With that said, I have also started to post and engage on Instagram more often as I hope to grow my following. If you’re on IG let me know in the comments or come follow me and leave me a comment letting me know you’re from the blog! I would love to follow new pages to change up my feed!

Here is my video I created where I talk about some of my favorite images of 2019.

A year in review.

If you’re new, I appreciate you stopping by. Follow me on the socials to see my work from Photo and Video.

Until next time.

Peace!

Tanyard Creek // Bella Vista, Arkansas

A beautiful fall day in Arkansas is something everyone should experience. The fall colors, breeze blowing the leaves and well, a waterfall!

Tanyard creek is a very easy trail(s). You can walk it all in under 30 min but to take it in you have all day. Even when the parking lot is full, it’s never too crowded. It’s just an overall good time when walking the trails there. You can walk the creek all the way up to the falls if you want, or you can take the trail.

So, a friend and I went to catch the fall colors on a day off and so I took photos but I took way more video. My camera set up was the Canon 5d Mark Iv with the Canon 35mm F2 IS USM and it was on the Zhiyun Crane 2. Love the set up in every aspect. Here is the video I created for the day. Check it out below!
